As a 38-year-old woman with a background in humanities and arts, I take great pride in the way that I present myself to the world. In the video, she went to a preschool and was dressed in a highly inappropriate manner: her short skirt left very little to the imagination, and she was constantly lifting and adjusting it in a provocative manner. This was a disappointing sight to see, especially since the target audience of her Vlog is young children. It is important for all individuals in positions of influence to lead by example and behave in a proper manner, particularly in the presence of impressionable young minds.

The Responsibilities of an English Teacher

As an English teacher, I strive to set a good example for my students in all aspects of my life, not just in the classroom. Proper behavior and dress should be paramount, as they deeply influence the way others perceive us and the way we perceive ourselves. English teachers are often viewed as paragons of virtue, particularly by young students who look up to them as role models. It is, therefore, our responsibility to place the utmost importance on our appearance and behavior, for the betterment of ourselves and those around us.

The Importance of Proper Attire

The way we dress speaks volumes about our character and our intentions. In Western cultures, it is considered inappropriate for women to wear overly revealing clothing in certain contexts. This can include the workplace, the classroom, and any other professional environment. Wearing a short skirt that requires constant tugging and adjusting, as Yuzu Cat did in her Vlog, sends the wrong message to young children. It conveys a lack of respect for oneself and for others, and can be interpreted as an attempt to lure attention or approval. English teachers, and anyone in a position of influence, should strive to dress appropriately, modestly, and confidently, in order to convey the right message: one of intelligence, professionalism, and respect for oneself and others.

The Dangers of Misleading Videos

While many Vloggers have excellent intentions and creative ways of presenting their content, there are those who use their platforms to promote negative ideas, poor behavior, and inappropriate dress. Such videos can lead to confusion among young minds, who may mistakenly believe that such behavior is acceptable or even desirable. As English teachers, it is our responsibility to educate our students not just on proper language skills, but also on how to think critically and analyze what they see in the media. We must also encourage them to seek out positive role models who exemplify dignified and respectable behavior, in order to help them form healthy habits and attitudes.

The Importance of Leading by Example

In order to be effective teachers, we must first be effective leaders. This means setting an example of proper behavior and dress at all times, not just when we are in the classroom. We should be aware of the messages we are sending with our clothing choices and make conscious decisions that promote professionalism and respect. In doing so, we will be providing valuable guidance to our students, who will see us as trusted role models that they can emulate. It is only by presenting ourselves in the best light possible that we can truly help our students succeed in their academic and personal lives.
